For wammers who love a thick mess, peanut
butter has everything you could ask for. It's smooth, spreads nicely, and will cling to every part of your body. It is one of the more difficult substances to wash off due to it not being water soluble. This is my routine for getting clean after a peanut butter session:
Before getting in the shower, I first scrape whatever I can off my body. (I'll often put whatever I can back in the jar to reuse for a future mess.) Once there is only a thin layer of peanut butter remaining, I get in the shower with warm water and lots of soap. After I've cleaned the area I got messy in, the only thing left to do is to draw a warm, soapy bath and soak for a bit. This is to help the smell go away a bit, because you will smell like peanut butter after no matter how thoroughly you clean.
Washing peanut butter off your body does take awhile, but it is totally worth it for how amazing the mess is!
Peanut butter is made by grinding peanuts into a paste. The finer the paste, the smoother the peanut butter. If you want it runny, choose peanuts with a high
oil content or add additional peanut oil to the paste.
Many commercial products add thickeners and emulsifiers. I prefer the products which contain only peanuts. You will have to stir oil back into the solid portion of the peanut butter from time to time but the healthier product is worth the effort. And for WAM purposes, the additives make it more difficult to control the product.
Peanut butter is naturally resistant to bacteria. It does not require refrigeration.
Peanut butter tends to be cloy-that's what makes it stick to the top of your mouth. For WAM play, the tendency to cloy may be useful. However, most people who eat it mix in jam or honey to prevent it from sticking inside their mouths. Honey mixes more uniformly. Be careful not to add too much jam or honey if you don't want the mixture to become sticky. Peanut butter and
chocolate go together very well.
As a Canadian, I am proud to note that peanut butter was invented by a fellow countryman:

I have never used peanut butter for WAM play, but I have eaten and mixed it most days of my life. Please use it for messy play and add your food fetish adventures to a section below.
