Meeting up and getting wet or messy with other people is one of the big appeals of the WAM community.

As with meeting anyone from the internet, it can be dangerous and suitable precautions should always be taken to ensure both your safety and that you have an enjoyable time.

Suggestions for how you can improve this include:

- Getting to know the person first through chats, but remember that people may fabricate or twist the truth to make them seem more favourable.

- Meet in a mutual location first, perhaps get a coffee in a public cafe before agreeing to participate--you could take a friend to this as support.

- Arrange to meet in a hotel or venue rather than a private residence.

- Arrange a group session with several different WAMmers first before going solo.

- Let someone know where you're going, how long you'll be and what they should do if they don't get a message or call from you.

If you plan to engage in sexual activity, make sure to wear protection and consider the risks of transmitted infections.

Set boundaries, what's allowed and what isn't.

If at any point you feel uncomfortable, STOP!
